Prayer FACTS

Agony in the Garden

“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”. 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Prodigal son welcomed home

“Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.” And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

A great sorrow has come into the heart of God. Let it be told only in hushed voice — another of His children has become a prodigal! Hush your voice yet more — you may be that prodigal child. Let your voice soften down still more — many of us have left our once devout Christian faith and drifted away from our loving Heavenly Father. But, in softest tones yet, He has won some of us back with His strong tender love. And now let our voices ring out with great gladness — we won ones may be the pathway back to God for the others. That is His earnest desire. That should be our dominant ambition. For that purpose He has endowed us with peculiar power – the Power of Prayer.
